The Board for CHS NYC represents approximately 79 years of Cornell Hotel School Alumni, and has representation in areas such as Food and Beverage, Finance,
Hotel Operations, Marketing and Travel Industry Associations.
We meet continuously throughout the year to plan and coordinate events for the
Alumni in the NYC area, as well as to provide value to our members through
partner development. Feel free to contact any member for more information or to

Ara Daglian Sr. '57

Ara Daglian, Sr., 83, of NYC and Fire Island, his Shangri-la, died peacefully on Sunday (November 1, 2009) surrounded by family and friends. He graduated from GWHS in New York City before receiving degrees from Columbia University and the Cornell School of Hotel Administration. He proudly served in the US Navy during World War II and in the Korean War. He had a 50 year hospitality industry career in hotel and private Club operations. Ara’s first food and beverage positions were at the Statler Hilton and then the Plaza Hotel. Subsequently, he served as General Manager at the National Arts Club, the Cornell Club and the Century Club, all in NYC. He was the Executive Secretary of the Club Managers City of New York Chapter and a former national Board member of CMAA. He devoted 25 years of service to the DPFD, where he rose to the rank of Chief.
He was beloved father of Lisa and Ara Paul, "Poppie" to Ara Paul Jr. and Katie. He was predeceased by his former wife Barbara Freeman Daglian (Arts ’53). He leaves his brother and sister-in-law, Kourken and Marliese, sister-in-law Georgia Freeman Messemer (ILR ’57), nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
A warm thank you to Ara from the CHS NYC Board for his many years of dedicated service to the Alumni.

| Alissa Stock is a Sales Manager for SynXis, a Sabre Holdings company. Alissa helps empower hotel operators to consolidate and manage hotel inventory from all sources -- seamless GDS connectivity, popular Internet travel sites, private-label central reservations systems, and full-service hotel Web sites. Alissa also serves on the board of the HSMAI Greater New York Chapter as the Director of Community Affairs. | | Linda Yang currently serves as a director of The Ackman-Ziff Real Estate Group, specializing in financing and investment sales for hospitality assets. Previously she was with Sonnenblick Goldman, representing a variety of institutional and opportunistic investors, in addition to owner/operators. While at HVS International, Linda consulted and appraised in excess of $2 billion in hospitality real estate. Linda has also held management positions with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts at the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia. | | Monica Gelinas is aSenior Consultant at Karp Resources, NYC-based consulting firm focused on sustainability, regional sourcing, product development, retail and foodservice solutions for public and private interests. She was the former Head of Supply Chain, Marketing and Product Development for Pret A Manger, USA with responsibilities in global supply chain management, product development, branding and merchandising, launching the chain in the US market. She is the immediate past president of CHS NYC and past trustee president of the Meadowlands Museum in Northern New Jersey. BS Hotel Administration ’99, MS NYU Global Affairs ’08, thesis on Green Hotels. | | Holly Rosenblum works with Mandarin Oriental, New York as E-Commerce & Public Relations Manager. Her primary responsibilities include creating and implementing the hotel's online brand and business development strategies and developing relationships with members of the press. From 2003 - 2007, Holly was a part of the sales team at Mandarin Oriental and oversaw negotiated corporate and leisure business in North America and all business out of Asia-Pacific. Outside of work, Holly has been involved with Gilda's Club Worldwide Young Leadership Council and is in the process of applying to MBA programs in hopes of matriculating Fall 2009. | | Since Spring 2005, Lara Chrisomalis has served as the Director of Marketing and Membership at The Cornell Club-New York. She oversees the Membership Department, including the Marketing budget, initiatives and promotions for The Club. | | Jacob Dunn graduated the Hotel School in 2006. He spent many years working in the restaurant and hospitality industry and recently made a transition into finance. Jacob grew up in South Orange, NJ and currently live in Jersey City. | | Alan Fleischman '65 Treasurer and Board Member Adf Real Estate, Inc, Licensed Real Estate Brokerage Restaurant Development Associates, LLC Teaching,Advocating and Promoting Hospitality Board Member NYS Restaurant Association, NYC Chapter, League for the Hard of Hearing | | Annie Chen works with The Private Label Company (www.theplc.com), a joint venture between The Leading Hotels of the World and Trust International, as a business development manager. Prior to this, she worked for TravelCLICK. In addition, Annie participates in the Cornell Hotel School Alumni Ambassador Program, in which she volunteers to interview prospective Hotel School applicants. | | Ben Cary Hotel School '02 Ben has been an active member in CHS since 2006 and enjoys being a member because it keeps him closely connected to the school and other alumni. He lives in Manhattan and works for Starwood Hotels. | |
