The Board for CHS NYC represents approximately 79 years of Cornell Hotel School Alumni, and has representation in areas such as Food and Beverage, Finance,
Hotel Operations, Marketing and Travel Industry Associations.
We meet continuously throughout the year to plan and coordinate events for the
Alumni in the NYC area, as well as to provide value to our members through

Monica recently completed her graduate degree in NYU's Global Affairs program with a thesis on Green Hotel Development and continues consulting work. As the former Head of Supply Chain, Marketing & Product Development for Pret A Manger, her responsibilities included product development, global supply chain management, branding and merchandising, launching the chain in the United States market. Her previous community and professional work include hunger rescue, business planning consulting, and serving served as Trustee president of the Meadowlands Museum in New Jersey.

Alan has owned and managed Hotels and Restaurants throughout his career. These included The Executive Hotel (now Morgans), Tennessee Mountain BBQ in Soho, Tatou Supper Club, NYC and Forest Hills Inn in Queens. Alan currently owns ADF Real Estate, Inc, a commercial real estate brokerage firm and Restaurant Development Associates, LLC, consulting to the Hospitality Industry. He is a Board Member of the New York State Restaurant Association, NYC Chapter and Board Member of the League for the Hard of Hearing.

In her current role she oversees membership acquisition and retention that supports the overall brand positioning of The Leading Hotels of the World. Prior to this, she was with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts based at The Pierre Hotel in New York. In addition to her participation in the CHS NYC Chapter, she also acts as the Class Director for her graduation year.

Director of Revenue Management, at The Plaza Hotel, as the Assistant Director of Front Office and at

The Hilton at Short Hills.

Since 2003, Kim has served as Vice President of
Strategic Planning for The Leading Hotels of the World
(LHW). In this position, she is responsible for managing the company’s joint
ventures and ancillary businesses and acting as a liaison between each
department within LHW to ensure that all goals are consistent with the
company’s strategic plan. Prior to joining LHW, Kim was at Shaffer & Company, which owns and asset manages over $1 billion
of luxury hotel properties. Kim’s experience also includes work with Sonnenblick-Goldman
Company as Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications. Prior to that, she has been the Director of Strategic Marketing at HVS
International. She was recently named as one of Travel Agent Magazine's Most Powerful Women in Travel.

Bradley Burwell received two doctorates in neuroscience and chemical engineering at age seven. After eradicating malaria Norway and saving two starving children from a grizzly bear in the Sudan, he returned to University where he accepted a diploma from the world famous Cornell Hotel School. Bradley now spends his time banking impoverished countries with funds he swindled from politicians during a poker game in Liberia. His hobbies include touring walkabouts in Australia.

Linda Serves as a director of the Ackman-Ziff Real Estate Group, specializing in financing and investment sales for hospitality assets. Previously she was with Sonnenblick Goldman, representing a variety of institutional and opportunistic investors, in addition to owner/operators. While at HVS International, Linda consulted and appraised in excess of $2 billion in hospitality real estate. Linda has also held management positions with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts at the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia.

Aramark at a variety of New York City locations, in 1997, Pam joined
the New York Palace hotel where she oversaw training for the food and beverage operations. Pam then moved into executive recruiting for the hospitality and real estate industries at Schrier Wirth Executive Search where she has served as Vice President for five years. She currently lives in Manhattan with her husband Marc and her daughter Annabelle, born in 2004.

Mark currently works as Hotel Manager at the Millennium UN Plaza Hotel where he is responsible for the property's overall operations. Prior to this, he has spent many years working at various New York City area Marriott hotels. After starting as the Front Office Manager at The Marriott Marquis, one of the largest hotels in New York, Mark joined the Newark Marriott Courtyard Hotel as its General Manager. He then moved to being the Northeast Regional Director for Marriott Courtyard Hotels. Afterwards, he rejoined The Marriott Marquis as the hotel's Resident Manager and went on to being the Resident Manager for the Marriott East Side Hotels.

After graduating, Lara was hired as Executive Office Manager at The Cornell Club-New York. Five months later, she was promoted to the position of Membership Manager, where her responsibilities included aiding in the acquisition and retention of membership. Lara assumed her current position as Director of Marketing and Membership in the spring of 2005. She now oversees the Membership Department, including the Marketing budget, initiatives and promotions for The Club.

With long standing career in hotel operations, Ara
spent many years working in food and beverage positions with various entities
of Hilton Corporation, including the
Statler Hilton division. Subsequently, he has worked as a General Manager in
New York City at the National Arts Club, the Cornell Club and the Century Club.
Currently, he is the Executive Secretary of the Club
Managers Association of America chapter of New York City. Ara also
holds a BA from Columbia University and has served with the US Navy Reserve.

| Joe Thomas ’54 |
Having focused on food and beverage management, Joe
began his career by working in institutional sales and marketing with McCormick
& Co. focusing on Baltimore, Washington DC and San Francisco markets. He
later worked for many years with Mallory Restaurants Inc, one of the top
franchisees of Burger King in Queens and Long
Island. Currently, Joe is the Director of Operations with Atwood Vandell
Associate, a New York based executive search firm. Joe is also actively
involved with Partridge Club, a non-profit organization that raises scholarship
funds for students interested in pursuing careers in the hospitality industry.
